Country Creek Residents,

NEW SOLID WASTE COLLECTION PROCEDURES EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Fairfax County has made the following changes to waste and recycling collection:

YARD WASTE COLLECTION HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.  Do not put out yard waste for collection.  You must take it to the I-66 transfer station, which is located (across the street from Costco. The I-66 transfer station hours are 8am-4pm daily.

Purple Can Club - the purple glass recycling containers that are located at the Providence Community Center and throughout Fairfax County have been removed.  You must recycle glass at the I-66 transfer station.

Document shredding has been suspended.

Country Creek’s trash collection schedule is now permitted to be changed with very little notice.  As of now, our schedule remains the same.  Please be vigilant and observant.  Check email and Facebook for updates.

To aid in keeping the workers safe and our community safe please follow the below guidelines:

  1. DO NOT PUT OUT YARD WASTE.
  2. BAG ALL TRASH AND REFUSE AND SEAL TIGHTLY - Bagged trash limits exposure to potentially harmful materials, such as used tissue that could spread viruses and bacteria.
  3. KEEP ALL RECYCLING CLEAN AND LOOSE - When recycling is loose in the bin, not in bags, it is easier to process.  Only place plastic bottles and jugs, paper, cardboard, and metal cans in the bin.
  4. EMPTY ALL LIQUIDS - Liquids in bottles, cans, and other containers can carry viruses and bacteria and can splash onto collectors when trash and recyclables are emptied.
  5. WIPE/DISINFECT TRASH AND RECYCLING CONTAINER HANDLES AND LIDS
  6. SEAL AND MARK ALL SHARPS/NEEDLES - Properly dispose of medical objects such as syringes by placing them in a sealed, rigid plastic container.  Seal the container with tape, mark it as “Sharps” and place it in the trash.

To help prevent the spread of the virus, the Board of Directors has elected to close all common areas until further notice, including the tot lot.  Any use of the common area elements is done at your own risk.

Thank you,

Ryan Courtney
