Residents,

As all of you are aware, Republic Services failed to collect the trash in the Association on Friday.  Management received several emails and phone calls over the weekend informing us of this issue.  On Saturday, we reached out to the customer service department and the assigned reprentative for an update.  Unfortuantely, we were not able to reach anyone that was able to provide updates on the situation.

Today, we were able to speak with the assigned representative that provided the reasoning behind the missed collection.  They stated that the missed collection was due to a route modification.  The route modification was proactively put in place prior to the summer months to ensure that the missed collections that were experienced last summer are not duplicated this summer.  Unfortunately, the route modification had immediate negative effects and put all of the trucks behind schedule.  Additionally, the assigned representative explained that a truck may be able to pick up the trash today.  However, this was never confirmed by Republic.  We did receive emails this evening stating that a truck was in the neighborhood collecting trash.  Tuesday's trash collection will occur, as scheduled.

The Board and Management are well aware of the dissatisfaction the neighborhood is feeling with Republic Services, as we share the same dissatisfaction.  The Board will be reviewing proposals from other trash collection companies at the next meeting.

We apologize for the issues and inconveniences that have been experienced over the last year with Republic Services and will work to select a better contractor for trash collection services.
